2021.10.20 09:34 warezcurlyhairz After 53 days sober -relapsed- 2 mins feels like 2 hours when sober.

Its torture. Nothings taking away this full body nausea either. Some extremely traumatizing shit happened (sibling died overdose) and im not over it but im not feeling as hard for it- but it feels like if i cant ever get better then why be alive? I did a years worth of work sober and all my drive had come back then a sibling death that was the only person i was close to and the only person who cared about me. and now that i relapsed yet gaain its worse than ever and its impossible to function. Even laying in bed to try to watch a movie is impossible. Ive never been like this before. Its a nasty mental feeling that keeps torturing. Then when i feel better? i use again. Alcohol and drugs. The reason i use again isnt the pain its the "ok what do i do now" Ive tried way more than ENOUGH with people all my life so all i see is me using, suffering and a slow death. Its a bad nightmare. Lemme be more honest- im not inspired to go to some giddy happy go lucky fake ass doctotherapist/ AA whatever center. Ive been. THe people kept hugging me shaking my hand forcing me to fake smile. Its like i just got here can you get the fuck off me? Maybe i just want t observe. Even then i dont want to observe them. Being there feels inferior.

2021.10.20 09:34 poisonivy47 No media reporting on the "kpop phenomenon" have mentioned that the biggest band in the world is antiwork

When I think about my own "antiwork" awakening, I keep coming back to the music and lyrics of BTS. I have been annoyed at how media completely ignores the anticapitalist and antiwork messages throughout their music, instead they act mystified like "why are so many people into a Korean band??"- I don't know, maybe it's because they don't focus solely on romantic love and actually embed relevant messages about rebelling against the shittiness of our working lives???
The message of their 2013 debut song "No More Dream"- basically we are all sold "confined dreams" by grownups who tell us to study hard and get good jobs but that's not what anyone actually wants
"Ask yourself what is your dream’s profile Become the subject of your own life that's always been suppressed"
NO (2013) is a song of rebellion, pointing out that people should "just say no" to the bs.
"They trap us in borders, the adults There’s no choice but to consent Even if we think simply, it’s the survival of the fittest Who do you think is the one who makes us step on even our close friends to climb up? What?"
Baepsae or Silver Spoon (2015) is an antiwork anthem, pointing out that rich people (or, "silver spoons") force us all to do "pointless labor" that we don't benefit from but it's expected of them to try to make us work harder and harder.
"Change the rules, change change. The ones who came before us want to, want to maintain. But we can’t do that, bang bang. This ain’t normal."
Fire (2015) is about how we should burn down the system
"Just live how you want, Your life is yours Don't try so hard, It's alright to lose"
I mean I could go on, but I just think it's important to recognize that many "kpop stans" are so loyal to BTS in particular because of their antiwork philosophy and their message of self empowerment in the face of capitalist bs.
TL;DR BTS fans are not just stupid girls starry eyed over a boy band, they are workers and students who recognize their anger at capitalism being expressed in pop music.

2021.10.20 09:34 PerpetualWinter [OC] The Top 75 Greatest NBA Teams of All-Time

In honor of the NBA’s 75th season, I wanted to create a team equivalent of the NBA’s 75 Greatest Players of All-Time. Traditionally, this is an incredibly subjective list, however, I wanted to take a more analytical approach and see what the numbers said. This rundown focuses on the best of all 1,333 teams that have played since the 1972 ABA season and the 1974 NBA season as that is as far back as the data goes. With that being said, I wanted to look at it from multiple angles to ensure that no deserving team was left out. To accomplish this, I used two metrics to rank the Top 75 teams of All-Time, the SRS and the AQI. This list also includes ABA teams, I just wanted a clean title.
For those of you that would like to understand the numbers being presented, I will go ahead and explain them below. The SRS is somewhat common but still frequently misunderstood and I literally made the AQI up, so I am the only person on Earth that is familiar with it.
The SRS and the AQI are very similar in their intent but differ slightly in their execution. Both of these metrics attempt to assess the overall strength of a team and boil it down to a single numerical value; however, due to their dissimilar approaches, they can sometimes disagree on overall team value.
The Simple Rating System (SRS) values teams by the strength of their opponents and point differential. This metric looks past the “a win’s a win” mentality and values convincing wins over strong opponents. By taking into account both margin of victory and strength of schedule, the SRS is able to prevent a top dog in a weak conference from looking like the next showtime Lakers without punishing good teams who can’t blow out every other team in stronger conferences.
The Adjusted Quality Index (AQI) is similar to the SRS in that it accounts for strength of opponents and margin of victory, however, it’s also influenced by various on-court metrics so that it rewards teams that are more well-rounded. Rather than solely relying on point differential and strength of schedule, this metric additionally utilizes Dean Oliver’s Four Factors to quantify the strength of a team’s system. By including on-court production, this metric values teams that play good, well-rounded basketball while also rating poorly balanced teams lower than they are traditionally seen. I developed this metric with the intent of creating a better assessor of team quality than anything else that was available and I believe that I was successful in doing so, however, like any other metric it has its limitations and if you believe another metric is better for quality assessment, that’s your prerogative.
These are both regular season metrics that are prone to underrating teams that have dealt with situations such as injury, load management, or anything else that would detract from regular season performances. These metrics are also unable to watch the game of basketball and are based solely on what the numbers indicate. Additional context will be provided below the tables for each metric.
