I’ve been in therapy for a long time (8-10 years). I’ve been listening to the episode about Link switching therapists and it hits me because I struggled with that decision about 3-4 years ago.
My first therapist was good. I just hit a spot where I felt like I wasn’t moving as quickly as I wanted to and I don’t think it was anything he was doing. If there’s one thing I kept wanting to interrupt the podcast and say it’s this: I think therapy is developing a relationship with your whole self and the therapist facilitates that. They’re not fixing us, they’re trying to facilitate us fixing ourselves.
I don’t think you need permission to look for a new therapist. I struggled with that for a long time when I switched. I felt like I was breaking up with him and that I owed him something for the progress we had made. I was worried that I was avoiding progress by switching to someone who didn’t know me. I worried I was close to a breakthrough and was trying to avoid having one by switching therapists.
In hindsight, I was making the progress and he helped facilitate it. When I started with my new therapist, I kinda realized why I needed to change: I was ready for a new set of self actualizations to be facilitated by someone else.
I dealt with childhood trauma. I struggle with anxiety and depression. I’m a people pleaser. I’m closing in on turning 50. My first therapist helped me crack into this a little bit, but some of the things we were doing didn’t feel like it was helping me move forward.
My second therapist helped me to understand how I struggle with OCD and how that helped me to cope with my trauma, anxiety and depression. I still don’t feel like I’m at the point where I just cry in session or feel like I’m at that point yet. Now I have even more tools to help me along in my own journey.
I just keep reminding myself this is a journey of self discovery. If your gut is telling you a switch might help, it’s ok to listen if you’re trying to examine things as objectively as you can. I think the only therapist that would make you feel bad for switching therapists is someone who isn’t good for you in general.

On Wednesday, November 24, just before the Thanksgiving holiday, a jury found Gregory McMichael (65), his son Travis McMichael (35), and their neighbor William “Roddie” Bryan (52) guilty on 23 counts in the murder of Ahmaud Arbery on February 23, 2020, near Brunswick, in Glynn County, Georgia.
Ahmaud Marquez Arbery, 25, was a former high school football player who ran every day. On February 23, he was running through a primarily white neighborhood about two miles from his mother’s house when the McMichaels saw him go by. Gregory McMichael had retired from the Glynn County police force and had been an investigator for the Brunswick District Attorney’s office. He picked up a .357 Magnum revolver, Travis grabbed a shotgun, and they hopped into a pickup truck and followed Arbery. Bryan followed the McMichaels and recorded what happened next on his cellphone.
The video shows Arbery jogging toward a white truck with Gregory McMichael standing in the truck bed on a quiet, flat, somewhat rural looking street. Arbery moves to go to the right of the truck, and when he reaches the front, just out of sight, a shot fires. Arbery comes back into view on the left side of the truck and moves toward the left side of the road, where he begins to struggle with Travis McMichael, who is holding a shotgun. Two more shots and Arbery staggers to the middle of the road in front of the truck before falling forward.
Police responded to the scene after a call saying there were “shots fired and a male on the ground ‘bleeding out.’” Mr. Arbery died at 1:08.
Law enforcement officers arrived minutes later and found the McMichaels standing over Arbery’s body. Bryan was in his vehicle. The officers took the McMichaels in for questioning and called the office of the Brunswick district attorney, Jackie Johnson, to ask for legal advice. Assistants there told the officers that the McMichaels should not be arrested.
The police report of the incident, taken largely from an account by Gregory McMichael, said that Arbery had “violently attack[ed]” Travis McMichael and had been shot when the two men fought over a shotgun.
The assistants in Johnson’s office had also told the police officers that the office had a conflict of interest in the case and would need to bring in another prosecutor. Before he retired in 2019, Gregory McMichael had worked as an investigator in her office for more than 30 years. Phone records show he called Johnson shortly after the shooting.
When she heard of what had happened, Johnson immediately contacted George E. Barnhill, the district attorney for Georgia’s Waycross Judicial Circuit. Barnhill watched Bryan’s video and, the next morning, told Glynn County police that Georgia’s citizens arrest law enabled the men to chase Arbery and that they had shot him in self-defense. Glynn County commissioners blame Barnhill’s early advice to the police for delaying the case.
On February 27, Johnson officially recused herself from the case, and the next day, Georgia Attorney General Christopher M. Carr appointed Barnhill to prosecute the case. Carr did not know Barnhill had already reviewed evidence.
Arbery’s family protested Barnhill’s appointment, since Barnhill’s son works as an assistant district attorney in Johnson’s office.
By April 2, Barnhill acknowledged he had a conflict of interest in the case, and yet on April 3 he issued a letter to the Captain of the Glynn County Police Department saying that the McMichaels were within their rights to chase Arbery under Georgia’s law permitting citizen’s arrests, that they were legally allowed to carry guns, and that Travis McDaniel had fired the shotgun out of self defense. “We do not see grounds for an arrest of any of the three parties,” he wrote.
Barnhill officially recused himself on April 7. Carr said he should never have agreed to prosecute the case in the first place, and he began an investigation into Johnson, who had recommended Barnhill without disclosing that she had already had him talk to police about the case.
On April 13, Carr appointed Tom Durden, the district attorney for Liberty County, one county over from the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, to prosecute the case. “We don’t know anything about the case,” Durden told reporters. “We don’t have any preconceived idea about it.”
And there, things might have rested, much as they have so often rested in our nation’s long history when white men have killed Black men.
But in the weeks since the shooting, the community had become increasingly insistent on hearing answers. A local journalist for the daily Brunswick News named Larry Hobbs noted right away that police were not forthcoming about what had happened. He stayed on the story.
Arbery’s family and friends kept up pressure on the Glynn police department, which was already under investigation for corruption on a different matter, and on the prosecutors.
Their outrage went national on April 26, when the New York Times reported on the murder, noting that there had been no arrests.
Finally, on May 5, the case broke open. Apparently thinking that since Barnhill had found Bryan’s video exonerating, everyone else would, too, Gregory McMichael worked with lawyer Alan Tucker to take the video to a local radio station, which uploaded it for public viewing.
The station took it down two hours later, but not before a public outcry. Carr promptly asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to take over the case. Two days later, on May 7, 74 days after Arbery was killed, GBI officers arrested the McMichaels.
On May 11, the case was reassigned to Joyette M. Holmes at the Cobb County District Attorney’s office and transferred to Atlanta, about 270 miles away from Brunswick.
On May 21, 2020, Bryan was arrested.
And on Wednesday, November 24, after a 13-day trial, a jury with only one Black person found Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael, and William “Roddie” Bryan guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and criminal attempt to commit a felony. In February, they will face federal charges of committing hate crimes.
Also on Wednesday, Johnson turned herself in to officials after a grand jury indicted her for violating her oath of office and obstructing police, saying she used her position to discourage law enforcement officers from arresting the McMichaels.
Today, Cobb District Attorney Flynn D. Broady Jr. issued a statement claiming that the jury’s verdict “reflects a new direction for our communities, this State, and the nation, to denounce hate, division and intolerance and promote unity.” We must never forget our past, he said, but instead “understand our prior shortcomings and work to the goal enumerated in our founding documents, ‘all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness’ and may we add Justice. In order to do that it takes strength and courage, to demand the rights entitled to us by our Constitution and laws.”
Broady called out Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper Jones, and his father, Marcus Arbery, for their courage in insisting on justice for their son, and claimed “the citizens of this state and this nation stood with Wanda and Marcus and their family.”
That local Georgians refused to let Arbery’s case go, and that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation brought charges immediately as soon as they were brought into the case, and that an overwhelmingly white jury found the three men guilty all lend credence to Broady’s statement.
But there is one sticking point: if Gregory McMichael had not produced that video, it’s entirely possible that the crime and its coverup would never have been prosecuted.

Let's dive into it.
"Don't buy the dip/Don't buy at all to spark MOASS" nonsense.
This is getting addressed first.
THIS IS UTTER FUCKING NONSENSE, WRAPPED IN STUPIDITY MIXED IN WITH A HEALTHY DOSE OF "YOU HIT YOUR HEAD?".
Firstly people are mixing up price discovery with price expression and then getting confused with how short volume properly works. That being said I've obviously been drinking from the same watering hole as I think I understand some of the insane troll logic, enough to recognise it as such anyway.
For the "Don't Buy" group, the logic goes that the estimated number of shares ranges from between 2 billion to 6 billion based on who's say vote stat analysis you want to go with. (Mine's had 4.8 billion with 5% MoE at 55(ish)% confidence). And that all continued buying does is add more synthetics and therefore more dilution, so if we use the most conservative number where there is 4x the number of shares in existence than there should be, then if all other things were equal (i.e undiluting it wouldn't cause a liquidity crunch) that the price should be about $160 per share for AMC.
(so far, so kinda agree).
The logic then continues that if we all stop buying, and just hodl that this will dry up liquidity in the stock and therefore spark MOASS.
They aren't wrong about the fact it will dry up liquidity, which in turn would cause a price spike. But for that to happen price discovery would be loaded with just sell pressure, and as such the price would crash down back to 2020 levels before any kind of crunch took place. And a 4x rise at $5 only takes us to $20. And it's not a case of the dip before the rip, because on the entire way down you remove the competition for those other shares allowing FTDs and SI to be closed/covered at lower price points.
Speaking of Dips before the rips. The next group think I've seen floating around is the "Don't buy the dips, just buy the rips". Again I get the insane troll logic in this.
The idea is as follows, if we don't buy the dips and only the rips then we are adding pressure onto the rips, which will make them even rippier and putting us up to higher price points, and therefore higher "support" levels. Again, this is kind right but there is a total counter side to this. It makes the rips rippier, and the dips dippier. To the degree that if algo/option hedging/dehedging/institutional buying isn't enough to turn a dip into a rip all that will happen is that the dip will keep on dipping.
With this all being said, I'm not annoyed at people nor do I believe this to be the work of "shills/Bashers/Hedgies". I think this has been born and grown out of a place of frustration.
AKA What we've done so far doesn't seem to be working, so let's try something new. But the thing is AMC, GME (and some of the other memestocks, at this point it's hard to differentiate what may or may not be part of the AMC/GME thesis so I like to focus on just these two) is a bit like driving a car that is skidding. We are aiming to get the car back under control and driving normal, but turning our steering wheel into the skid hasn't helped so far so the logic is we should either drive with the skid, or just let go of the steering wheel entirely (for all the apes that live in nice warm places, just know a collective of cold weather apes like myself all just had a sharp intake of breath when they read that sentence).
Personally I've given up trying to time my buys, when I have money to spare I'll buy, regardless of the fact it's a rip, dip, or trading sideways long term it's all the same result anyway.
Anyway let's move on, as this isn't the "don't buy/don't buy the dip" counter DD.
Overall market conditions
SAAR (existing home sales) this number did better than expected, though is still on a slow down.
Continuing jobless state claims, again this number did better than expected and is actually decreasing overall.
Both these together along with Powell's extended term actually stemmed the worse of the bearish market on Monday/Tuesday
Core inflation- Was exactly what it was predicted to be. Neither a boon nor a bust to the economy (insert Ledger's joker quote here).
Overall though the market did a whoospie during the week thanks to fears around the new-covid variant, several countries including mine set limits on travelling to and from Southern Africa. We'll need to see how this plays out, regardless your feelings on covid and the political around it, this impacts the wider market which in turn affects AMC.
Continuing to trend higher, with Mon/Tue hitting $1.57ish trillion. Overall we'll see this continue to trend higher as long as more money is printed, the correction doesn't come and we approach the quarter end.
We are continuing to fall, now sitting at $141b, the average decrease seems to be about a $5 to $10b (with Nov being $8.5b average decrease). At the current rate we have 16 trading days until the money runs out (or the 20th Dec). I fully expect this issue to get solved and the limit to be raised, but the question is how close it will run to $0. I fully expect this to start rearing it's ugly head as an issue come the 10th Dec.
The longer, and closer to $0 it runs the more likely we will see red market wide during the time. The flipside is the longer and closer to $0 it gets, without getting to $0 the stronger the correction to the green it will be.
The debate rages on, is Ryan Cohen still under his gag/not allowed to buy order or is he not.
From my reading of both, and from my understanding of the general rules around individual investors having a share size worth registering he still is.
Short version, specific trumps general rules/contracts.
The general rule about being allowed to speak and buy is set within the director rules.
The rules stating he isn't allowed to do anything until Feb 2022 is specific and therefore trumps the general rule.
Think of it, in the U.K, where you are not allowed to cross a solid white line while driving, that's the general rule but the specific rule of being allowed to cross it because, say there is an obstruction on the road, would trump the general rule.
That's my understanding of it. Would love to see if anyone else has a more expanded understanding.
And I speak of GME because GME and AMC are now interlinked whether solo stock apes like it or not.
I'm only giving this the space it deserves for the newer apes.
AMC, GME and memestocks go up... silence.

Again overall, I'm not in the mindset that every news/MSM is in the pocket of big fiancé (though a lot certainly will be) but I'm in the mindset they go for what drives engagement. There regular viewers will watch either way and us apes will watch/read when we see the FUD as it attracts our ire. Want it to stop, then stop caring and sharing their bullshit articles and videos... simples.

I got it wrong this week, but I think it's more important to understand the why.
AMC was following Path B perfectly Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday.
Then Thurs hit, along with covid fears, and overall major bearish sentiment festered during the closed period. So it sent it down further than even I expected for Friday Pre-market. Then due to the fact of losing a day and a half of trading we saw it stay at these low levels. Option Chain analysis and option flow both pointed to a recovery had we had the time to play it out but such is life.
This week really fucks with my overall percentage dragging it from 90% down to 73% accuracy (I track multiple stocks with my option chain analysis). I could be kind and say "doesn't count" as how was I to know a new Covid variant would pop up but that would defeat the entire purpose of my prediction/analysis style which is too see how accurate it is over the long term even when parsing in these unknownable events.
Plus I learn the most from my failures, and I want my failures to be on display and I was due a ego knocking to keep my head from getting too big (but once in a while is fine lol)

I haven't had a power bill since I rented an apartment in Halifax about 8-9 years ago. Just moved into a place in rural NS.
The meter readings are fine and correct, but the consumption is high as hell.
The main heat is electric, but we've barely used it. We do laundry, run a dishwasher, and have had a dehumidifier running in the basement round the clock for about 2 months.
I knew my bill would be high for the first full cycle, but Holy bejezus!
Washer and dryer are newer, and energy efficient; so is the dishwasher. The dehumidifier is also new, and is supposed to be low cost.
I'm just looking for others 2month consumption amounts to see if I need to investigate further.
